Business Book Awards: A Practical Guide for 2026 and 2027
Updated 8 October 2026. Business book awards can give your work useful third-party recognition, but the right award depends on your reader, subject and business goals. An entry is an investment in visibility, not a guarantee of sales or clients.
This guide replaces our 2025 list with current entry information and official links. Some 2026 deadlines have passed; other organisers are already accepting 2027 submissions. Check the organiser’s latest rules before paying or sending books.
How to choose an award worth entering
- Look for a strong match between your book and the award’s audience and categories.
- Check eligible publication dates, language, geography and format.
- Budget for entry fees, category fees, copies, postage and optional promotional materials.
- Plan how a shortlist or win would support your website, speaking profile and book marketing.
Axiom Business Book Awards
The 2027 awards are open to English-language books from authors and publishers worldwide, including self-publishers. Books with a 2025 to 2027 copyright are eligible. The final deadline is 28 January 2027, with a fee of $99 per category. PDF submissions are accepted for general categories; requirements differ for audiobooks.

Nautilus Book Awards
The 2027 submission cycle is open. Nautilus asks entrants to consider how their book aligns with its values and category criteria. This may suit a business book with a strong purpose, sustainability or personal development dimension. Check the current publication window, division, formats, fees and deadline directly rather than using last year’s requirements.
Read the Nautilus entry guidelines.
The Business Book Awards
The UK Business Book Awards celebrate authors sharing industry and market knowledge. The 2026 entries closed on 15 March, and the ceremony took place on 16 September 2026. That cycle is complete. Use the current winners to assess category fit and watch the organiser’s site for the next entry cycle.

Non-Obvious Book Awards
The 2026 awards consider English-language nonfiction with business applications, published between November 2025 and December 2026. Entry is free. Two physical copies must arrive by 1 November 2026; print books, galleys and advance reader copies are accepted. Digital-only books are not eligible, and the organiser says it cannot accept international shipments. UK authors should check a suitable US fulfilment route before sending anything.
Check the Non-Obvious submission rules.
Goody Business Book Awards
The nomination form is now for 2027 and lists a $79 fee per category. Entrants upload the book and cover as PDFs and explain how the book positively affects others. Choose categories that genuinely fit your content and read the latest eligibility and deadline information before submitting.

Financial Times and Standard Chartered Business Book of the Year
The award’s current name is the Financial Times and Standard Chartered Business Book of the Year. Our previous reference to McKinsey is outdated. Consult the official 2026 award page for the current shortlist, timetable and publisher entry requirements. Do not assume that a forthcoming book can enter this year’s cycle.

Porchlight Business Book Awards
The 2026 submission guidelines cover books published in the US during 2026. Entry is free, but the stated 1 October 2026 deadline has passed. Review the categories and requirements now if you are planning a future US publication, and wait for the next cycle’s confirmed rules before entering.
Read Porchlight’s 2026 submission guidelines.
Westminster Book Awards
These are specialist awards for political writing, not a general business book competition. A business book should only be considered if it fits the current categories and eligibility. The 2026 deadline is 29 October 2026 at 11:59pm. Entries are free and nominations are made by publishers.
Read the Publishers Association’s Westminster guidance.
Turn recognition into a useful next step
A shortlist or award can strengthen your book’s credibility when you use it well. Update your author bio and book page, tell relevant readers why the recognition matters, and connect it to your wider marketing campaign. Keep any claims accurate and follow the organiser’s rules for badges and award wording.
For older awards mentioned in previous versions of this article, including the CMI Management Book of the Year, check for a current entry route before adding them to your plan. We have not treated an old award page as evidence that entries are open.
